    Asbestos for Architects & Designers

    It is aimed specifically at architects and designers working with buildings that may contain asbestos. It provides information about the legislation governing asbestos in work and outlines the responsibilities of architects and designers.

      By the end of the course you will be able to:



      • Understand why asbestos may be in the fabric of the building

      • How and why an asbestos register should be produced

      • Know the likely areas that you could come into contact with asbestos

    Current legislation set out by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 states that all companies and building owners have a legal duty to manage Legionella. All staff and employees must be made aware of risks associated with Legionella.

      • Identify and assess sources of risk from Legionella in the premise
      • Understand, implement and manage a control programme

      • The hierarchy of suitable controls with regard to working at height hazards
